Electrolysis & Waxing in Palos Heights, IL

Signature Service

Electrolysis — permanent hair removal

Electrolysis is the only hair removal method the FDA recognizes as permanent. A fine, sterile probe delivers a precise current to each follicle, disabling it for good — no regrowth, no upkeep, no more razors or wax appointments for the treated area.

A licensed electrologist, longtime member of the American Electrology Association, and physician recommended, Barbara uses advanced technology in a sterile, spotless environment — her expertise means shorter treatment times and exemplary results.

It's effective on all hair colors and skin tones, and ideal for the face, brows, chin, upper lip, underarms, bikini line, and anywhere unwanted hair appears. Sessions are booked by time, so treatment scales to the area — a brief touch-up or a longer visit, as you need.

Most clients begin with a series of sessions as hairs cycle through growth phases; Barbara will map out a plan at your first visit. Consultations are always free.

Good to Know

Electrolysis, explained

What is electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the removal of individual hairs from the face or body — and the only method scientific research recognizes as both safe and permanent. First developed by Dr. Charles E. Michel in the 1870s, it works by directing a precise electrical current into the growth center of each follicle, destroying its ability to regrow; a very fine probe is inserted painlessly at the follicle's natural opening and the hair is removed. With each session, regrowth returns finer and sparser until it stops altogether. The treatment causes very little discomfort, can be adjusted to your comfort, and is effective on every skin type and every kind of hair.

What causes excess hair growth?

Heredity, hormone levels, and certain medications can all play a part — and temporary fixes like shaving, waxing, tweezing, and bleaching can irritate the skin, encourage regrowth, and cause ingrown hairs. Unwanted hair on the upper lip, chin, or bikini line can leave anyone feeling self-conscious. For Barbara, the best part of being a licensed electrologist is helping men and women alike rebuild that confidence — permanently.

How long will electrolysis take, and how many sessions will I need?

Because so many factors influence hair growth, every treatment plan is personal. A typical session runs 15 to 60 minutes, and clients who return weekly or every other week tend to see the quickest, best results. Barbara will map out a plan at your free, confidential consultation — proudly serving Chicagoland and the south suburbs. Call 708-425-0000.
